About His Helping Hands
Who We Are
Bringing churches together to meet needs in Clare County for Christ.
Our story
His Helping Hands opened in Farwell in 2010, then under the organization Love INC. In 2016 we were presented with the opportunity to separate from Love INC. and have better utilization of money donated. As an independent 501(c)(3), we opened our doors in Harrison, partnering with area churches, and became His Helping Hands of Clare County.
Over the years we have served 3,319 unique households in Clare County by utilizing the monies donated by individuals, businesses, and churches, along with fundraising.
One church or agency cannot meet all the needs in our county. His Helping Hands brings resources together so more needs can be met.
Our mission
His Helping Hands is a Christ centered ministry that uses volunteers from churches to affect lives and communities for Christ.
What we do
At the heart of His Helping Hands are church volunteers who give of their time, talents, and treasures to help those in need in Clare County.
Our ministries
- Furniture Ministry
- Bed Ministry
- Transportation Ministry
- Laundry Ministry
- Food Ministry
- Clothing Ministry
- Personal Products Ministry
- Navigation Mentors
All ministries depend on volunteers and the resources available.
How we serve
His Helping Hands is a call center operating year-round, Monday – Thursday, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., taking time out of the office on holidays.
We are not an emergency service. It takes time to process each intake to be sure all decisions are made to the best of our ability. We take time to vet each request to cut down on scams or needless requests that could be better helped in another way.
We work with other agencies in the community, including:
- Mid Michigan Community Action (MMCAA)
- Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS)
- The Salvation Army
- United Way
- Veterans Administration
How we are funded
His Helping Hands of Clare County is supported by donations from individuals, churches, businesses, and fundraising.
We are 100% privately funded and receive no federal or state funds. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All donations are tax deductible.
Our partner churches
The churches in Clare County are a pivotal piece of His Helping Hands. We receive financial support, volunteer support, opportunities to speak on behalf of the organization to the members, fundraising opportunities, and endless encouragement. We are so thankful for the 18 churches that participate in His Helping Hands.
